Pelvic Health / Incontinence
Pelvic Health / Incontinence
Millions of people live with pelvic floor dysfunction, which can lead to urinary and/or bowel incontinence, prolapse and/or pelvic pain and sexual disfunction. Pregnancy, childbirth, surgery, trauma, chronic coughing, constipation and aging can lead to pelvic floor muscle weakness, tension and incoordination. Although urinary incontinence and pelvic pain are common among women, neither is a normal part of childbirth or aging.
Our specially trained therapists assess a variety of conditions involving the musculature of the pelvic floor in a comfortable and supportive environment. We treat a wide variety of conditions including:
- Low back and pelvic pain during pregnancy
- Post-partum care
- Decreased core and pelvic strength following delivery
- Diastsis recti (ab separation during pregnancy)
- Discomfort during or following sexual intimacy
- Painful menstruation
- Coccyx pain
- Generalized pelvic pain
- Urinary incontinence (stress, urge or mixed)
- Pelvic organ prolapse
- Post-surgical care (cesarean, episiotomy, sling procedure, prolapse repair or radiation)
