We have been certified and taken continuing education to instruct patients in pelvic floor exercises, sometimes called Kegel exercises. These exercises help to tighten and tone the pelvic floor muscles that have become weak over time. Learning to use these muscles during activities that can cause leakage is a key to success. These exercises can also help to extend the time between voiding and managing overwhelming urges to urinate. Many cases of incontinence can be managed with these exercises.
